Medical & Dental

Rapidform XOS/Scan provides a powerful, easy to use and highly customizable platform that makes 3D scanning a viable option for a variety of medical and dental applications. The software's advanced data processing technology quickly makes useful, accurate 3D models of anatomical scans, whether from optical (laser, white-light, etc.) or CT/MRI devices. For the first time, the ability to capture the geometry and surface information of anatomical parts and quickly measure, modify or even physically recreate them is available.

Flexible Technology with Myriad Uses
Rapidform XOS, combined with the appropriate 3D scanning device, can improve practices in dentistry, surgical procedures, prosthetics, cosmetic surgery and more. A few examples of how Rapidform is already being used in the medical community:

• Dentists in Italy are using Rapidform XOS with a laser scanner to build 3D models of the dentition, which they manipulate and run simulations with for treatment planning
• A clinical research organization in the U.S. uses Rapidform XOS to measure the volume patients' faces for various medical applications
• A major personal care products maker uses Rapidform XOV to align and inspect detailed scans of skin before and after their products have been used

Cutting Edge 3D Technology Combined with Customized, Application Specific Solutions
In order to adapt Rapidform's powerful feature set for specific applications, the software is customizable and automatable. Repetitive tasks can be automated, and the user environment customized to meet specific users' needs.

Tools to Manipulate, Simulate, and Measure
3D models can be deformed, virtually sculpted, and resized. A variety of simulations can be performed using advanced 3D morphing technology. Surface area, volume, surface distance, point-to-point distance, angles, radii and more can be measured. Curvature can be easily examined using interactive color mapping.
