INUS Technology, Inc. Releases New Rapidform 3D Point-processing Libraries

Seoul, South Korea – Oct 16, 2008, INUS Technology announced the release of its Rapidform.dll V2 Product. The Rapidfoprm.dll component library is used in a variety of end-user applications for handling of the large point cloud data sets: facilitating visualization, mesh modeling, surface modeling and solids modeling and dimensional inspection. Rather than being a simple upgrade to the Rapidform.dll V1 product, V2 is a ground-up re-write, employing INUS Technology’s highly-scalable “Rapidform XO” kernel for 3D scan data. The Rapidform.dll library is targeted at the most demanding point-processing applications, handling vast, multi-million point data-sets. Rapidform.dll V2 offers:

• Large data-set support
• Optimized performance via sophisticated memory management
• Native 64bit platform support
• Fast calculation: Multi-threading, supporting multi-core architecture
• Support for operation suspension, interruption and progress-indication
• Consistent color preservation and manipulation tools

INUS Technology’s senior VP of Marketing & Global Sales, Calvin Hur, notes: “Rapidform.dll V2 is a clear response to the needs of our customers. The trend toward collecting larger data sets is only escalating. We’ve seen this need in industries as disparate as medical imaging, manufacturing, all the way up to large-scale physical-plant and geo-measurement. INUS Technology is pleased to provide our licensees with the enabling tools to meet the demands of their customers, and by doing so, continuing INUS Technology’s tradition of leadership as the world’s most widely used point-processing software.

Current users of Rapidform.dll V1 for whom migration is not tenable will enjoy continued support of the V1 libraries, but users migrating to V2’s performance advantages will find the same familiar Windows 32 and 64 bit developer environment and INUS Technology’s support infrastructure.
