Planning for the company’s fourth annual hands-on training conference led by Rapidform experts is full steam ahead in Denver, Colorado. This event will be held at the Warwick Denver Hotel from April 2-5, 2012, and early birds can save $200 until March 4, 2012. Seats are filling up fast – we have more than twice the registrants who have signed up compared to this time last year.

In its 12th consecutive year, attendees gained insight into how they can leverage the power of 3D scanning in their organizations from real-world users. The conference also featured 3D scanning hardware exhibits from several Korean companies that partner with Rapidform.

How do you simulate a CMM in XOV to create Reference Points for RPS alignment?

For some types of scanned data files it can be difficult to create a watertight mesh from the point cloud due to irregularities, non-uniform surfaces and organic shapes. Measuring the volume inside such a scan can also be a difficult task. The goal of this technical tip is isolate a section from a scan of a bone, create a watertight mesh from it, and measure its volume.
